Day 26 - Back to sea yet again - June 14th

Well, we’ll certainly have our sea legs by the time this cruise finishes!  Not only are there quite a few days at sea, but sliding past a cyclone plus the cool and choppy run south of Australia has been quite a change from what we’d consider normal.  Going back the way we came has inevitably meant turning back into choppy waters for a while.  Hopefully, for the last time before we disembark in Southampton.

The earlier hours of daylight mean that we are now waking earlier – a bit too early in fact, so we are forcing ourselves back to sleep for a while.  After the clear, hot sun of the last three days, a return to a misty outlook was almost a relief, but the wind was quite strong.

I really cut back on breakfast, just a drink of lemon and honey.  And a small pastry… After morning trivia (still no win) we headed to the atrium where Paula got roped into bowls yet again, but I retreated to the cabin and put on my dark glasses as the light was affecting my eyes.  Paula then went on to the Casino for some gaming lessons.  I managed to sit out on our balcony for a while where it was pleasantly warm and even with the dark glasses, managed to work on the Codeword puzzles.

A late lunch – beef curry and vegetable curry made a nice mix plus yet another piece of fish.

After cruise long trivia  (we are now up from 13th overall to 9th, but only three bonuses behind the leaders.

Coffee with our team in the atrium before afternoon trivia then ready for another formal night.  Whilst having coffee with Sandie and Dave, Bert and Larraine, (who are all on the Circle Pacific next year), we were discussing Venice and opted to take a Princess tour on arrival day.

The early show was the Princess singers only with Burt Bacharach songs of love.  Good singers these 4. Dinner was a Princess 50th Menu repeat and for once, our steaks were a little overcooked.

The late show was British magician/comedian, James Long.  A fair show though a bit of a slow start.  Another act new to us.

By the time we returned to the cabin, our Venice tickets had arrived.

So, another few days at sea, then after Aqaba and the Suez Canal, more port days than sea days, the longest run then of sea days is just 2 - before Le Havre.
