2015 Travel Plans!

Well, here we go again.  An early start with an outline of our travel plans for the year.

Once again, we are cruising out of Sydney but this time, not on our favourite, the Dawn Princess.  We are on one of the two sister ships – the Sea Princess, but we’ll know our way around.  Although we have signed up to Cruise Critic again, none of our regular table mates are with us this year (next year, it is  a different story).  The first half of the World Cruise, just for a change,  goes clockwise round Australia, with Melbourne and Perth stops rather than Darwin, before heading to Sri Lanka.

On arrival in Southampton, we do our usual trip up to Nottingham to catch up with family before heading back to Southampton again to board the new (2013) Royal Princess for a cruise right around Great Britain, with calls at Guernsey, Ireland, Liverpool and Scotland then back down to Le Havre again.

Just a week in the UK before flying out again to LA and home early August.  We then have a few days planned on the Gold Coast at the end of September, travelling with a local couple, but no doubt, we’ll have the opportunity to catch up with some cruising friends whilst we are there.  Dave and I have already pencilled in Movieworld and SeaWorld…

So there you have it.  Yet another blog which hopefully will help future travellers and also keep our friends and relatives up to date.  Being at the top of the Princess loyalty ladder (Elite status) has some benefits that we really do appreciate so we can easily overlook some of the hiccups and even some of the lesser entertainers, but that doesn’t mean they won’t be mentioned!  We tend to put up with it as the benefits outweigh the disadvantages.  We expect the staff to be top class, the entertainment staff to be fun and to make yet more friends to add to those we already have.  We are also aware that this ship has had a few hiccups in recent times, so we are already prepared for a less than 100% trouble-free run.

Countdown is all go now for May, but maybe the odd post between now and then on whatever takes our fancy.  Add this to your bookmarks/favourites now so that you are ready.  Better still, sign up as a follower or get an email when there are new posts.

  1. We did last year's RTWC so we are really looking forward to your comments on this year's cruise. When you go to the Gold Coast consider going to the Australian Outback Spectacular it's a great show and the meal is OK as well.

  2. Thanks. We may well do it. Last time, there was a two week wait to get in, so we'll have to book on line.
